A) Typhus fever – which might have been circulating in Stratford in the spring of 1616 – or a different type of fever or illness.
Wrong. Sorry about that. It seems you’ve been led to believe, just like many others for 400 years, Shakespeare died due to typhus or a different kind of fever. Do you know why many take the view Shakespeare died due to illness? Because one of his signatures on his Last Will and Testament seemed a little shaky. I.e., a shaky signature could be caused by illness and there was an illness going around that other people died from, ergo, this illness that killed others also killed Shakespeare. Ya, it’s kinda circular isn’t it? Haha.
Yup, that’s the evidence top-notch Shakespearean scholars have been touting for a long time. Put plainly, it’s silly weak research; notwithstanding it’s the research prominent Shakespearean scholars have been pumping out for hundreds of years – including current 21st century academics.
In addition, the ‘shaky signature’ hypothesis has been largely debunked by excellent researchers at the National Archives in London.
